On 29th July, a LATAM Brasil A319 collided with a GOL Boeing 737 MAX while taxiing at Sao Paulo-Congonhas Airport in Brazil.

The LATAM Brasil Airbus A319-100 with registration PT-TMT was being towed by a tow bar. However, as the tug failed, the A319 collided with a GOL Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with registration PR-XMU.

As a result of the collision, the wing of the LATAM aircraft damaged the tail cone (APU door area) of the GOL B737 MAX.

Reports say that the tow bar failed while the aircraft was being prepared to be pushed back from the gate.

Following the incident, both planes were grounded and their flights were canceled.
