Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Newark diverted to Keflavik International Airport, Iceland.

Lufthansa flight #LH402 departed Frankfurt Monday, October 21 2024 at 12:20 CEST to Newark.

The Boeing 747-800 (registration D-ABYK) climbed to 29,000 ft then 33,000 ft over the North Sea before crossing the Atlantic.

The aircraft turned around near Greenland. ATC vectored the flight to Keflavik International Airport, Iceland.

The 11 year old aircraft landed on runway 01, 4 hours and 43 minutes after departure due to a medical emergency.

The return flight #LH403 was cancelled. The aircraft is still at the airport in Iceland.
