Lufthansa flight #LH499 to Frankfurt diverted to Manchester.
A Boeing 747-8 from Mexico City to Frankfurt diverted to Manchester Airport.
The flight #LH499 departed MEX Airport Saturday, May 18 2024 and was supposed to land at Frankfurt about 10 hours later.
But in the early hours of the afternoon, spotters were happy to welcome the “Queen” in a rare sight at Manchester.
While cruising at 39,000 ft, the crew contacted ATC regarding an urgent medical emergency on board.
The Boeing aircraft (registration D-ABYO) was vectored to Manchester where it landed 30 minutes later at 12:00 pm BST.
The 10 year-old aircraft resumed the flight to FRA Airport at 15:00 BST and landed at FRA Airport at 18:08 CEST.
