Lufthansa Boeing 747-8 to Newark diverted to Boston.
Lufthansa flight #LH402 departed terminal 1 at Frankfurt about one hour late Thursday, April 11 2024.
The flight was operated by a 9 year-old Boeing 747-8 (registration D-ABYR).
For a reason still unclear, while on approach to Newark Airport at 15,000 ft the crew decided to divert to Boston.
The aircraft landed on runway 4R after 9 hour-flight at 6:00pm EDT.
But 18 hours later, it looks like passengers are still stranded in Boston. The Boeing aircraft is still on the ground at Logan International Airport.
