Alaska Airlines Pilot 37 year old Captain Eric McRae, based in Seattle, died suddenly on Sep.23, 2023 in his hotel room during layover.
Seattle-based Alaska Airlines Captain Eric McRae was discovered dead in his New York hotel room last Saturday after he failed to meet his crew in the lobby for their return flight to Seattle.
It’s reported that McRae’s death was sudden and unexpected, and no foul play was believed to be involved in his untimely passing.
His remains are currently en route back to Seattle, where the flight is expected to be met this afternoon by his family, friends, and colleagues who are gathering to pay their respects.
McRae’s roots run deep at Alaska Airlines, where he has worked for nine years. His father is a retired captain of the airline.
His wife is a flight attendant for the airline. Together, they have two small children, a toddler and a newborn.
