After nearly 50 years, KLM is operating its final Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet flight.

Flight #KL686 departed Mexico City to Amsterdam operated by Boeing 747-406(M) (reg. PH-BFT) nicknamed ‘City of Tokyo’, a nearly 23 year old aircraft.

The aircraft is expected to land at Schiphol at around 15:00 local time.

Due to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak resulting in dramatic decline in demand for air travel, KLM was forced to move forward the retirement of its Boeing 747 fleet.
