A flight, from Malaga, landed at 11.40pm on Saturday. Essex Police arrested a woman, 49, on suspicion of assault.

The woman, who had been swigging red wine from a Fanta bottle, flipped 45 minutes before the easyJet flight was due to arrive in the UK.

Three stewardesses held her down as the plane landed 20 minutes early in Southend.

One passenger said the woman, called Lisa and who claimed to be with a child aged 12, rowed with her partner then “flew down the aisle, screaming and swearing”.

She punched one of the crew in the face then kicked another into the emergency door.
