A retiring pilot has gone viral online after breaking down in tears during a farewell speech on his last ever flight.
Captain Rizalino ‘Totoy’ Irizani piloted his last Cebu Pacific flight from Davao to Cebu City in the Philippines on August 18.
But before taking off, he came out of the Airbus A320 cockpit to tell passengers that their journey would be his last after 48 years of flying.
‘Welcome aboard flight 600 for Cebu. I would like to inform you that in my career, this is my last flight here,’ said Irizani, who turned 67 the next day.
‘My 48 years of flying in aviation, a big thing for me.’
As passengers applauded, he said: ‘Information. We’ll be cruising an altitude of 28,000 feet, it will take 48 minutes.
