At least 7 explosions have been heard in Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, followed by a low-flying aircraft.

Caracas Under Fire: Venezuela Denounces U.S. Missile Strikes Following Night of Explosions

CARACAS, Venezuela — The Venezuelan capital was rocked by a series of powerful explosions in the early hours of Saturday, January 3, 2026, as President Nicolás Maduro’s government accused the United States of launching a direct military assault on the sovereign nation.

The blasts, which began around 2:00 AM local time, were accompanied by the roar of low-flying aircraft over Caracas. Local witnesses reported at least seven major detonations that shook the ground across the city, followed by widespread power outages in several neighborhoods.

A Night of Chaos in the Capital

Social media was flooded with videos of smoke rising from key strategic locations, including the La Carlota air base and the Fuerte Tiuna military complex.

At least 3 spots have been hit.

All of these controlled by government, heavily guarded by military and strategic places for Maduro.

FAA issued a new NOTAM

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has since issued a total ban on all U.S. commercial and private aircraft in Venezuelan airspace, citing “ongoing military activity.”
