A Finnish F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet has crashed on a military site near Rovaniemi Airport.
The Finnish Defense Forces confirmed the incident on social media that a fighter jet has crashed into a military area in Rovaniemi.
The accident occurred at about 10:50am, with emergency services in the region receiving an alert about a “major air traffic accident” shortly afterwards.
The pilots was able to eject. He has been taken to a health facility for further examination.
There are no injuries on the ground related to the plane crash.
