DETROIT, MI — A routine flight from South Carolina to Michigan took an unexpected turn on Tuesday evening after cabin crew conflict prompted the aircraft’s captain to request immediate ground staff intervention prior to landing.
Delta Connection Flight DL5090, operated by Endeavor Air, departed Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) on Tuesday, October 13, at 7:00 PM EDT bound for Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW).
While the Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR regional jet (registration N132EV) was on final approach into Detroit, flight deck crew contacted ground operations to request that inflight management and supervisory staff meet the aircraft directly at the gate.
“We are experiencing conflict issues among the flight attendants and will likely need to separate them to prevent further escalation or an incident,” the captain reported to ground control during the approach.
Despite the internal dispute in the cabin, the aircraft landed safely without further incident on runway 21L at DTW just a few minutes later.
Upon arrival, the plane taxied to Gate C21, where inflight management personnel were waiting to meet the aircraft and address the situation. It remains unclear what triggered the dispute between the crew members.
