MADRID — Flight FR3187, operated by a Boeing 737 MAX 8 (registration EI-IFV), took off from Manchester Airport‘s runway 23L at 1:45 PM BST. Despite the potential incident during takeoff, the crew continued the flight plan and climbed to a cruising altitude of 37,000 feet while crossing the English Channel.
While en route, the flight crew contacted operational control to request maintenance personnel meet the aircraft in Madrid to conduct a thorough exterior inspection immediately after arrival.
Bird strikes can cause damage to engine fan blades, windshields, or sensitive air-data sensors. Requesting a post-landing check allows ground crews to verify structural integrity and clear the aircraft for its next leg without compromising passenger safety.
The aircraft is scheduled to land at Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) at 5:10 PM CEST. No emergency was declared in flight, and the aircraft maintained normal cruise parameters throughout the journey.
