PHILADELPHIA — A Frontier Airlines flight arriving from Florida was met by emergency medical personnel at Philadelphia International Airport on Monday afternoon following an onboard medical crisis involving a suspected passenger overdose.
Frontier Airlines Flight 2538, operating an Airbus A321neo (registration N648FR), was on final approach into Philadelphia after departing Tampa International Airport when crew members issued an urgent medical distress alert at approximately 4:00 p.m. local time.
According to flight communications, pilots alerted air traffic control after a passenger located in seat 22A became unresponsive. Trained medical personnel who were traveling as passengers on board immediately stepped in to render emergency assistance in the cabin while the flight crew requested priority handling and advanced life support at the arrival gate.
