Air India flight AI315 to New Delhi Boeing was forced to turn back to Hong Kong due to technical issues mid-air.
The flight AI315 departed Hong Kong today at 12:17 HKT for a 6-hour flight to New Delhi.
The Boeing 787-8 (registration VT-NAC) took off from runway 25C then climbed to 22,000 feet when the crew turned around after the pilot detected a suspected technical issue, airport sources said on Monday.
The pilots actually reported having an “engine fuel filter problem” to ATC, according to AIRLIVE source then required to return to Hong Kong Airport.
The flight landed safely back in Hong Kong on runway 25R one hour after departure. All passengers disembarked without incident, officials said. The Dreamliner is currently undergoing a detailed inspection.
