EDINBURGH — An easyJet Airbus A321 made a safe landing at Edinburgh Airport on Friday morning after pilots reported a suspected bird strike to the aircraft’s nose landing gear during departure from London Luton.
Flight EZY926P departed London Luton Airport at 07:20 UTC on Friday, October 2, bound for Edinburgh on a scheduled one-hour flight.
The issue was raised at 08:05 UTC as the aircraft began its initial approach into the Scottish capital. The flight crew contacted air traffic control and requested that engineering teams be on standby to inspect the nose landing gear area upon arrival, suspecting that a bird had struck the assembly during the takeoff roll at Luton.
Despite the report, the aircraft’s flight characteristics and landing gear systems remained fully functional throughout the flight. Flight EZY926P landed without incident on Runway 24 at Edinburgh Airport at 09:27 local time.
The aircraft taxied normally to its stand, where maintenance engineers conducted a thorough visual inspection of the nose gear and surrounding fuselage structure before clearing the jet. No injuries were reported among those on board.
