DENVER — A medical emergency was declared mid-flight aboard United Airlines Flight UA2865 while en route from Santa Barbara, California, to Denver, Colorado.
The flight, operating on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft (registration N37298), departed Santa Barbara Municipal Airport earlier this morning. Shortly after reaching cruising altitude, pilots notified air traffic control that a passenger on board was suffering from severe shortness of breath.
Flight attendants immediately responded to the situation, administering supplementary oxygen to the passenger. Emergency medical guidance was established and flight attendants received on-board medical assist to stabilize the traveler.
As of the latest reports from the flight crew, the passenger is receiving continuous oxygen support and remains in stable condition.
The pilots maintained their course toward Denver International Airport (DEN), where emergency medical services (EMS) have been dispatched to meet the aircraft directly at the gate.The flight is expected to touch down in Denver at approximately 08:30 AM MDT.
