A Lufthansa aircraft to Munich is returning to Lyon after the crew declared an emergency.

The Lufthansa flight LH2249 departed from Lyon to Munich at 13:51 CET, almost one hour late.

The CRJ-900LR (registration D-ACND) stopped the climb at 5,400 feet and started to circle during near LYS airport.

The crew declared an emergency (squawk 7700) due to a gear issue according to AIRLIVE’s source.

UPDATE 14:50 CET
About one hour after takeoff, the aircraft is still holding at low altitude.

The aircraft is now climbing to 10,000 feet and leaving French airspace.

Flight LH2249 is now entering Switzerland’s airspace.

The flight is now circling near Lausanne.
