A Fly Jinnah flight made an emergency landing at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on September 23 after the captain reported smoke in the cargo compartment.

Fly Jinnah Airbus A320-214 aircraft operating flight from Karachi landed safely at Lahore after a ‘Mayday’ call at 7:15 PM on Monday.

Flight 9P846 en route from Karachi to Lahore landed safely at 7:23 PM, and all passengers and crew were evacuated without incident via emergency exits.

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed the fire department cleared the aircraft following a thorough inspection. Fly Jinnah assured the public that a detailed investigation was underway to determine the cause of the smoke alarm.

A spokesperson from Fly Jinnah confirmed the incident, emphasizing that standard safety protocols were followed, and the technical team is investigating the alarm.

Fly Jinnah flight 9P846 from Karachi to Lahore on September 23, 2024, experienced a smoke alarm indication in the cargo compartment upon landing in Lahore. In accordance with standard safety protocols, the flight crew followed the standard procedures, notified the airport, and the aircraft with all crew and passengers onboard landed safely in Lahore.

The airline apologized for the inconvenience, prioritizing passenger safety. “Our technical team is currently conducting a thorough inspection to identify the cause of the alarm. We regret the inconvenience caused and assure the safety of our passengers and crew remains our main priority,” the airline statement reads.
