United Airlines flight from Cancun to Chicago diverted to Memphis as several passengers have been injured during the flight.
The Boeing Boeing 737-900 (registration N66814) departed Cancún Wednesday, August 28 2024 and climbed to cuise altitude of 32,000 ft over Gulf of Mexico.
According to The Aviation Herald, while passing over New Orleans, LA, the aircraft encountered severe turbulence causing injuries to 7 people on board.
The crew decided to divert to Memphis, TN where the flight landed 2 hours and 19 minutes after the departure.
One person was taken to hospital with non-critical injuries
