Air France #AF226 declared an emergency due to hydraulic problem on the Dreamliner, returned to Paris

Air France flight to New Delhi returned to Paris CDG following technical issue.

Air France flight #AF226 was scheduled to depart Paris CDG this Friday, July 26 2024 at 10h05 but the plane took off 2 hours late.

The Boeing 787-9 (registration F-HRBJ) departed from runway 27L at 14h19 local time and climbed to 35,000 ft.

But only 25 minutes after takeoff, the crew noticed a technical issue with a hydraulic pump on the Boeing 787-9.

The pilots declared an emergency (squawk 7700) and descended to 24,000 ft to enter a holding pattern in order to prepare the aircraft to return and to burn/dump fuel.

The flight turned around Est of France and returned to Paris CDG 1 hour and 54 minutes after departure from the same 27R runway.

Customers taken in charge for re-routing as soon as possible (commercial treatment in progress).

The technical problem with the hydraulic pump was not affecting the airworthiness of the aircraft added Air France to AIRLIVE.

The aircraft is now under maintenance and the flight has been cancelled.
