A flight from Palma De Mallorca to Vienna was damaged when it flew thru a severe hail storm.

Austrian flight #OS434 sustained damage from an intense hail storm this Sunday, June 9 2024.

The flight was operated by an Airbus A320 (registration OE-LBM) which is 23 years old.

The flight departed Palma De Mallorca at 15:55 CEST and climbed to 34,0000 ft over the Mediterranean Sea.

During the incident, the nose radome and the weather radar damage were badly damaged. The windscreen was also cracked form the hail.

When you send off four besties and they end up being „attacked“ by hail, lose half of the cockpit nose and have their front windows shattered prior to arrival. #OS434 Palma to Vienna. Very pleased you all touched ground – alive. Thanks #austrian #aua #airlines pic.twitter.com/SHOUsUY5Wg
