A Ryanair Boeing 737 carrying around 190 passengers was forced to perform an emergency landing after at Faro Airport.

Dozens of emergency vehicles raced to the scene as Faro airport sounded the red alert.

A Ryanair plane carrying around 190 passengers was forced to perform an emergency landing after one of its tyres shredded on take-off.

The Boeing 737-800 circled for a while to burn fuel and lower weight for the emergency landing.

The incident was called in shortly after 8am – the flight having taken off at 7.50am.

The aircraft (reg. EI-EVK) performed a low fly past before circling for a while then landed safely minutes later.
