An American Eagle CRJ-200 collided with a shuttle bus at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, injuring two persons in the bus.
The American Eagle CRJ-200, operated by Air Wisconsin with registration N457AW was scheduled to depart Chicago O’Hare as flight 6209 bound for Dayton-James Cox Dayton International Airport. However, while it was taxiing for departure, the regional jet collided with a shuttle bus.
Passengers were on board both the bus and the aircraft at the time. No injuries were reported on board the aircraft, however, two passengers on the shuttle bus had to be taken to Resurrection Hospital with minor injuries, while seven other passengers reportedly declined medical treatment at the scene.
All those on board the aircraft and the shuttle bus disembarked out of precaution. Passengers boarded a replacement aircraft to Dayton.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into the incident.
