INCIDENT Another Cargolux Boeing 747 suffers landing gear issue forcing an emergency landing

A cargo flight from Chicago ORD to Luxembourg Airport performed a low pass following an alarm in the cockpit.

Flight #CLX51G was scheduled to land before noon at Luxembourg Airport.

But shortly after noon on Saturday 20th May, the Boeing 747-8F (reg. LX-VCB declared) an emergency in coming to land at Findel Airport.

Pilots received an indication of the aircraft’s landing gears not being properly deployed.

They executed a low fly past to confirm that all gears were down. The aircraft landed safely with the emergency services on hand.

No injuries were sustained to people.

One week ago, another Cargolux Boeing 747 performed an emergency landing. On landing, the right center gear unit broke off.
