On 16th April, a TAG Airlines Saab 340A skidded off the side of the runway at Mundo Maya Airport, Guatemala.
The Saab SF-340 with registration TG-TAI was performing flight 5U-221 from Cancun to Flores with 17 people on board including 14 passengers and 3 crew members.
Before landing on the runway, the crew performed two low approaches.
However, Flight 5U-211 veered off the runway on landing. The aircraft came to rest on soft ground. None of the 17 people on board were hurt.
According to the local army, the aircraft suffered a mechanical issue with the landing gear. The aircraft was left disabled on landing.
