The British Airways Boeing 787-9 performing flight #BA216 from Washington to London Heathrow made an emergency in Halifax due to smoke in the cabin.

The aircraft (reg. G-ZBKL) declared a Pan Pan and landed at 9.30pm local time.

The firemen boarded the plane after pilots reported smoke in the cabin.

Passengers on board were waiting to be offered accommodations.
