On 26th August, a United Airlines Boeing 767 reached Dublin with an underneath panel detached in flight.

The Boeing 767-400, with registration N76064, was operating flight UA-23 from Newark to Dublin.

As reported by the Aviation Herald, the pilots heard a loud bang at 16,000 feet during the climb out of Newark.

However, the pilots decided to continue the flight and arrived in Dublin some 5 hours and 40 minutes after departure.

A post-flight inspection revealed that the aircraft had lost a panel somewhere on its flight path near the ocean.

As a result of the incident, the return flight UA22 was cancelled and the aircraft was taken out of service for further investigation.
