A DC-3 which served in the U.S., French, Yugoslav and South African airforces has crash-landed

A DC-3 veered left off the runway after landing at San Felipe’s dirt runway.

The old DC-3 landed at San Felipe’s dirt runway and the aircraft veered left off the runway and came to a stop off the runway with the right main gear strut collapsed.

The Aliansa Douglas DC-3T HK-5016 was operating from Inirida to San Felipe (Colombia) with 6 people on board.

The aircraft was originally manufactured in 31 July 1944 as C/N 14101/25546.

It first served in the US Air Force as s/n 43-48285 then in the French Air Force as F-BTDE.

It was later delivered 27 November 1972 to Yugoslav Air Force at Zagreb registered as YU-ABV then to the South African Air Force, delivered on 12 April 1980.
