A United Airlines flight from Kahului, Maui to Newark Liberty was delayed last Friday after a bird sneaked onto the plane before take-off.

The plane was scheduled to take off at 16:55 local time as flight UA43 from Kahului Airport, arriving at Newark Liberty International Airport at 08:25. However, the flight was delayed by 26 minutes after the small bird got onto the plane.

The United Airlines crew tried to get the small bird off the plane while the passengers were waiting for taking off. The pilot was suggested to turn off the lights so the bird could then look for any light towards the front, which was the open door. He then dimmed the lights and asked passengers to shut their window shades.

One of the passengers’ posted videos on Twitter of the bird’s adventure with the crew and passengers.

United tweeted back, saying, “We thought they looked a little seedy when they gave us their boarding passes, but they had on im-peck-able disguises.”

United thanked its passengers for their patience, and the flight was safely departed for Newark.
