INCIDENT Gulf Air Airbus A321 has been evacuated in Kuwait

A Gulf Air Airbus A321 was evacuated on a taxiway upon landing at Kuwait International Airport after a minor incident.

The Airbus A321-231, with registration A9C-CB, was operating flight GF215 from Bahrain International Airport (BAH) to Kuwait International Airport (KWI) on July 5, earlier this week.

The aircraft vacated runway 33L via taxiway W5, where an emergency evacuation was initiated. A total of 67 people, including 7 crew members, were on board the aircraft. No one was injured during the evacuation. They were safely escorted into the terminal.

The aircraft had departed Bahrain International Airport at 16:33 for the short flight and landed in Kuwait at 17:23 local time.

The cause of the incident is unknown and is being investigated by the airline along with the local authorities. One of the engines reportedly was on fire upon landing.
