The aircraft performing flight EW9463 to Dusseldorf stopped climbing at 12,000ft only 4 minutes after takeoff.
It returned for an emergency landing runway 27R at London Heathrow 10 minutes later.
All emergency vehicles met the aircraft which managed to vacate the runway.
