A man that fell from around 3,500 feet and landed in a Clapham back garden is still yet to be identified more than a year on from the incident.
The suspected stowaway fell from a Kenya Airways flight that was preparing to land at Heathrow Airport a short distance away. He is believed to have fallen out from the landing gear of the plane as it made its approach to the runway.
A Sky News report following the incident identified the man as Paul Manyasi, who it claimed was an employee of a cleaning services company that worked at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi.
However, Kenyan authorities disputed that report and have claimed it not to be the identity of the suspected stowaway.
The cleaning company he supposedly worked for also issued a statement saying they were not aware of anyone by that name and no security pass had been issued to a Paul Manyasi.
A post-mortem examination concluded that his cause of death was multiple injuries.
An e-fit description was issued to the public as efforts remained ongoing to try and identify the man.
A number of items, believed to belong to the man, were also found within the landing gear of the plane before the fatal fall. They included a bag, water and some food.
It’s understood the man’s body was frozen when it fell.
Met Police said it had shared fingerprints from the body with Kenyan authorities, but the latter had failed to find a match despite all Kenyans aged 18 and older having to have their fingerprints taken and mandatory identity card issued.
