A cargo plane incident at the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport closed the main runway on Monday night.

Kalitta Charters II  aircraft sustained damage when it landed with its nose gear retracted on runway 22 at Tuscaloosa Airport.

The Boeing 727-200 (reg. N724CK) is 39 years old.

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox confirmed on Twitter that the crew is safe, but the primary runway at the airport was closed.
