Delta #DL420 Boeing B763 experienced a main landing gear fire

A Delta flight leaving JFK Airport aborted takeoff on the runway causing gears fire.

Delta flight #DL420, a Boeing B763, experienced a main landing gear fire just before 7:30 p.m., according to the FAA

Over 200 people had to be evacuated from a Delta flight on the tarmac at JFK on Monday evening after a small brake fire erupted in the wheels.

Delta Flight 420 to Accra, Ghana, was already headed back to the gate after it aborted takeoff because of a problem with its airspeed indicator when the brakes overheated.

The FDNY responded to Terminal 7 for the two-alarm fire and Port Authority officials said they were able to put out the flames coming from the Boeing 767’s wheelwell.
