On December, 8th British Airways flight #BA288 from Phoenix to London Heathrow suffered engine #3malfunction on takeoff runway 08.

The crew and climbed to 10,000ft to enter holding pattern to dump fuel for a safe return runway 08.

Dumping fuel is a standard procedure that occurs when planes need to make an emergency landing because it lessens the aircraft’s weight.

The flight was cancelled and the Boeing 747-400 (reg. G-CIVM) is still at Phoenix for maintenance.
