ALERT An aircraft has come into contact with a tow bar on push back at Manchester

Firefighters and the ambulance service were called to the airport just after 6.30am this morning after the tow bar became embedded into the aircraft’s landing gear.

The incident took place during push back. The incident has caused minor delays to several flights.

A Manchester Airport spokesman said: “We can confirm that an aircraft has come into contact with a tow bar on push back.

“The incident is minor with no injuries and we are investigating with our third party partners involved.

“The incident has caused minor delays to several flights, and anyone with specific queries should contact the airline directly.”
