On 10th November, a Middle East Airlines Airbus A320 was hit by a bullet while landing. The bullet penetrated the fuselage crown.
The Airbus A320-200 with registration OD-MRM was operating flight ME-311 from Amman to Beirut. However, upon landing in Beirut after a flight of about 40 minutes, the top right forward part of the fuselage was penetrated by a bullet.
The airline reported that a stray bullet struck the A320 while it was landing in Beirut. Even though celebratory firing hit multiple stationary aircraft at Beirut airport every year, this was the first time a moving aircraft was hit by a bullet.
Fortunately, no one was injured and the aircraft has been grounded and is awaiting fixes at Beirut Airport.
The bullet penetrated the fuselage above the head of a Lebanese lawmaker.
