A Canadair from the Fire Brigade has crashed during the extinguishing activities in Italy.
In the early afternoon today a Canadair from the Fire Brigade has crashed during the extinguishing activities of the forest fire underway on Mount Calcinera, in the municipality of Linguaglossa, province of Catania.
From the first information, the aircraft would have crashed following the impact of the hull against the coast of the mountain.
According to Civil Protection Department Italy, search and rescue teams are currently at work in the area.
The Linguaglossa fire brigade is on the spot, including a team of Speleo alpino fluviale (Saf) experts and an AW 139 ‘Drago 146’ helicopter that is flying over the crash area.
