A woman late for her flight tried dashing onto the tarmac at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix to catch up to it, Arizona police said.
Airport workers corralled the 53-year-old woman from St. Louis until officers arrived on Sunday, Dec. 26, police said in a statement. Airport operations were not affected.
After arriving too late to board her flight, the woman opened emergency doors and bolted down a set of stairs to the nose of the plane, KNXV reported.
She told airport workers she was trying to stop the plane from taking off so she would not miss her flight, KPNX reported.
“She decided to go out the emergency doors, to the tarmac, and start arguing with ground crews about why she should be let on the plane still,” bystander Bryan Jones told KSAZ.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.
