WARSAW — Two Polish government aircraft bound for Dakar have aborted their journey and are returning to Warsaw following escalations surrounding the Constitutional Tribunal, officials confirmed on Friday.
Polish President Karol Nawrocki announced he was interrupting his working visit to Senegal to return to Poland immediately after reports surfaced regarding police presence on the premises of the Constitutional Tribunal.
“At a time like this, the President must be in Poland. I’m canceling my flight to Senegal. I’m returning.”
While police officers have been deployed to the Tribunal’s grounds, authorities clarified that officers remain outside and have not entered the building itself.

The two presidential Boeing 737-800 aircraft originally departed Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) at 14:45 CET. President Nawrocki was en route to the Republic of Senegal for an official visit centered on preparations for the 4th Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar.
Both aircraft redirected mid-flight and are scheduled to land back at Warsaw Chopin Airport by 21:30 CET. Further updates regarding the situation at the Constitutional Tribunal and official statements from the presidential administration are expected following President Nawrocki’s arrival.
