An Royal Air Force Hawk aircraft crashed on Anglesey this afternoon shortly after taking off from RAF Valley, prompting a major response from emergency services.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames coming from the jet as it gained altitude following takeoff. Both crew members successfully ejected from the aircraft before it crashed approximately one mile from the base.
Plumes of thick black smoke were visible rising from the crash site shortly after the impact. Emergency crews, alongside an air ambulance that landed at the scene, are currently responding to the incident.
