An Antonov An-22 heavy military transport aircraft belonging to the 196th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the Russian Air Force (one of only three still in active service) crashed earlier today into the Uvodskoye Reservoir near the western Russian city of Ivanovo.

Search and recovery teams are currently combing the reservoir and the surrounding shoreline for debris. Russian responders have reportedly only found fragments of the plane floating in the water.
