A Delta Airbus A330 suffered a new technical issue, forcing the pilots to divert to a nearby airport.
Delta Air Lines flight DL162 departed Minneapolis on Sunday, November 30 2025 for a 8-hour flight to Amsterdam.
The Airbus A330-900 (registration N411DX) departed runway 30L at 18:20 CST and climbed to 37,000 feet and flew during 1 hour before the crew made the decision to divert to the nearest airport.
The right engine was shut down due to a loss of hydraulic pressure on pump 16. The aircraft landed 2 hours and 5 minutes after departure on runway 04R at Detroit and stopped on taxiway, met by emergency firetrucks for inspection.
The flight is about to resume from DTW Airport with a spare A330 (registration N831NW).

The same plane suffered another technical issue only 2 months ago. The flight to Boston declared an emergency and returned to London.
