Flight-tracking website highlighted a close call at Los Angeles International Airport involving two departing airliners on 31 October.
According to the publicly posted track data by Flightradar24, ITA Airways flight AZ621 departed runway 24L and made an early left turn after takeoff placing it directly into the projected path of American Airlines flight AA4, which had departed runway 25R moments earlier.
Flightradar24 says the aircraft came within roughly 1 km / 0.6 nautical miles of each other while at the same altitude.
No additional information has yet been released about controller instructions, traffic advisories, or safety alerts that may have been issued in the tower or by onboard systems.
LAX operates parallel westbound departure flows on 24L/R and 25L/R, meaning runway assignments can produce lateral proximity if aircraft turn early.
As of now, the FAA has not commented on whether a formal investigation or review will be opened.
