A plane flying to Sofia Saturday afternoon returned to Chopin Airport.
LOT flight LO633 departed Warsaw airport at 14:53 CEST Saturday, July 26 2025 to Sofia, Bulgaria.
The Embraer 175 (registration SP-LID) turned around at 35,000 feet over Romania’s border 40 minutes after departure.
The crew declared an emergency (squawk 770) and returned to Chopin Airport triggering heavy Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) presence.
The plane had experienced a radio malfunction. The flight continued later after replacing the plane.
