A United Airlines aircraft suffered a collision with a coyote during takeoff from Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
A United Airlines Boeing 737MAX 9 was damaged during takeoff on Sunday after the aircraft hit a coyote at Chicago O’Hare.
The Boeing 737 MAX 9 (registration N37507) departed at 10:05 CST from runway 28R to Phoenix when the incident occurred.
The pilots stopped a climb at 6,000 feet before entering a short holding pattern then climbed to 10,000 ft before returning straight back to Chicago O’Hare.
The animal damaged the front nose gear and forcing the pilots to make an immediate return.
However the aircraft returned to service only 4 hours after landing back.
