Air France flight from Paris to Johannesburg declared an emergency and diverted to Abidjan.
The flight AF990 departed Paris CDG Wednesday, December 18 2024 at 21:32 CET for a 12-hour flight.
But 7 hours into the flight, while flying over Western Africa, pilots of the flight AF990 squawked 7700 (general emergency) and turned around.
The Boeing 777-300ER turned around toward Abidjan where it landed in the middle of the night at 04:18 due to a medical emergency.
After a 1-hour stopover, the aircraft (registration F-GZNT) resumed the flight to Johannesburg.
The airline says the flight is expected to land at 13:15 at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport.
