Air India flight AI106 departed Newark on Saturday morning to New Delhi. The flight diverted to Moscow after approximately 10 hours in the air.
The Boeing 777-300ER (registration VT-ALJ) turned around over Russia and landed at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport.
Air India confirmed the diversion. Flight 106 landed in Moscow just after 5 a.m. local time before proceeding to Delhi approximately three hours later.
The flight diverted due to a medical emergency on board.
