A Wichita woman died after backing into an active airplane propeller in Derby Saturday afternoon.
A woman in Kansas died after backing into a moving airplane propeller while taking photos, according to officials.
The incident happened around 2:40 at Cook Airfield Saturday October 27th, in Kansas.
She was unresponsive when EMS arrived and was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young lady who died yesterday after a tragic accident with an airplane propeller on Cook Airfield. I wasn’t there when it happened, so I will not speculate on what could have or should have happened differently. Cook Airfield posted a message about the tragedy on Facebook on Sunday
According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the woman, identified as 35-year-old Amanda Gallagher, was taking photos when she walked into the propeller and was critically injured. She died at the hospital.
