The Airbus A321 (registration D-AIEE) landed in Larnaca, Cyprus amid spiraling tensions with Iran.
A crew change was supposed to take place for the legs Larnaca-Tel Aviv and Tel Aviv-Munich.
But, after some time on the ground, it was announced that the plane would return to Germany. Passengers were told they could disembark in Cyprus if they wished, but their luggage would remain on the plane and be taken back to Germany.
About 20 passengers chose to disembark in Larnaca without their luggage, while the rest of the passengers continued back to Munich. Airline has said that the plane landed in Cyprus “as a precautionary measure due to security activity.”
